Rajendra Nimje is from the prestigious Indian Administrative Service. He holds Masters Degree in Technology from IIT Bombay and is a Digital Vision Fellow of Stanford University, U.S.A. He also holds Bachelor degrees in Engineering, Law and journalism along with PG Diplomas in Business Management and German Language.
He has more than 28 years of experience in various sectors which includes Telecom, e-Governance, Power, Engineering, Banking, Construction & Irrigation. Earlier he worked as Executive Director for Gati Group which was developing Hydel power projects in the state of Sikkim and operating coal mines in Indonesia. Rajendra also provided leadership to ILFS Engineering & Construction Company Ltd. during 2008-2010. He was President spearheading Metro Rail, Power, Irrigation and Building & Structures.
Rajendra hails from prestigious I.A.S. background. He handled different portfolios during his long administrative career such as District Collector in Khammam district of AP, Director Technical Education, Additional CEO for Andhra Pradesh, Election Commission of India, Dy. Commissioner Excise, and Commissioner for Municipal Corporation Rajahmundry, Joint Collector Warangal and Additional Commissioner, Finance & IT in Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.
Mr. Rajendra Nimje has many awards to his credit. He won the prestigious' Social e-Challenge' award in Stanford University in 2003-04 for his innovative 'e-Immunization' project. The project was prototyped later in Khammam district and it won the 9th e-Governance Award in 2006. 'Giri-Pragna' project for the most disadvantaged section of the society - was chosen as 'Finalist' in the Stockholm Challenge Awards 2006 and was the only project which can reach finals in the education category from India. The Unique project again reached Finals of Stockholm Challenge in the year 2008. His e-Governance projects 'Parishkruthi' and 'e-Hyderabad' reached Finals in Stockholm Challenge for the year 2006 and 2002 in Public Administration category. He also won the 9th National e- Governance award for his project 'Health Call Center' as Silver Icon during 2006. 'Health Call Center’ project was later included as one of the ‘Best Practice' by Govt. of India.
Mr. Nimje is closely associated with the Indo-US collaboration for Engineering Education which was founded in 2006 for providing fillip and accelerated growth of standards in engineering education in US and India. He also led a delegation to Germany for joint development of Polytechnic Education in India and Germany. |
